Busy, Busy, Busy

I had every intention of updating once a week. I even switched update days so it would be less hectic. I was determined to give my faithful 12 readers a new blog entry. Life had a few surprises for me.

I’ve been extremely busy the past few weeks. I was drafted to help out with VBS (Vacation Bible School) at a different church. They did a three day event, from Thursday to Saturday. I was involved with VBS motions for the songs, as well as organizing a drama on the final day (yeah, drama!).

On top of that, I got a job! I started the day before the VBS did, so my life has been pretty busy for some time. I wasn’t able to stop and rest when VBS was over, so updating my blog regularly did not happen.

People have expressed amazement for years at the amount of writing I’ve been able to get accomplished. They constantly asked, “How do you do it?”

My answer was a little lame, but pretty much the truth. “I have no life.”

Even when working full-time, I was able to go home at night and write. I had hours on the weekends to focus on my writing.

Now, not only do I have a full-time job (yeah!), but I also have a boyfriend (yeah!). Those weekends go by quick. Writing...yeah. Not getting a great deal done. I’m procrastinating on editing by writing this blog entry.

However, I am not a quitter. Just because I suddenly have a life, I do not plan to stop writing. I am certain that I am called to write. I am planning on participating in NaNoWriMo this November. It may be my toughest yet, but I’m going to do it.

Anyway, that’s why I’ve been away from the blog. I AM coming back. I just have to figure out what to write about.

Next week, I will either discuss Dueling Banjos or Toner Battles. Feel free to let me know which one you would prefer to hear about first.

  1. Toner Battles. Definitely Toner Battles!

Having no life is the best way to get a lot of writing done! I took a break from writing when my life got busy, and it took years to get back into the swing of things. It is possible to juggle it all, but it's always a sacrifice.

Best of luck, and congrats on all the positive changes in your life!

  2. I'll have to tweak it, but I do have the Toner Battles entry ready to go, if the majority votes for it. Thanks for dropping by!

  3. You *are* busy! Having a life will provide you with good material when you get back to your writing! Enjoy every minute! You deserve some fun (and editing DOESN'T count.)
